Head to Toronto for the Canadian Folk Music Awards
Canada Travel Tips | Mittwoch, den 26. Oktober 2011 um 17:46 Uhr

Those who may have missed the Ottawa Folk Festival last summer have another opportunity to see some amazing musical performances in Toronto on December 2-4. The city is hosting the annual Canadian Folk Music Awards to honour those who excel in this fantastic genre of music. Travellers in the area may want to catch some of the action surrounding this thrilling celebration on their next trip to Ontario.
The award ceremonies will include a wonderful gala reception where the general public can purchase tickets to participate, says the organization’s website. Alongside the actual presentation of the awards, travellers can attend workshops hosted by the bands and singers, or see a film debut that documents the life of harmonica player Mike Stevens.
Travellers who are seeing the sights in Ontario may want to visit one of Ottawa’s premiere music stores if they have become inspired by the festivities in Toronto. Since 1976, the Ottawa Folklore Centre not only offers classic equipment and instruments for purchase, but it is also a gathering place for those who enjoy playing music. Guests to the city can visit the website to find out about shows that may be taking place during their stay.
