Through a collaboration between Ottawa Tourism and the City of Ottawa Economic Development and Innovation Department, the Major Events Office is enjoying successes from the joint strategy of “bid more, win more, host more”, and is proud to be hosting a variety of upcoming national and international events.
- The 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships will take place from May 20 to 25, 2013
- Carleton University will host the 2013 Yonex Ottawa International Challenge for elite badminton players June 24 - 29
- The 2013 International Triathlon Union (ITU) Duathlon World Championships for Under 23, Junior, Paraduathlon and Age Group will be held on August 10 and 11, 2013, in the centre of Canada’s capital city
- Ottawa will host the 14th annual Canadian Comedy Awards in October 2013
- The 2014 Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships in January, the qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, will feature Canada’s elite competitive skaters
- The Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Men’s Basketball Final 8 National Championships will be here from and March 7 to 9, 2014
- The Canadian Deaf Dart Championships will be held in Ottawa in November 2014
- From June 7 to 26 2015, Ottawa will host games for the seventh FIFA Women’s World CupTM with 24 teams competing and high hopes for Canada’s national team
- The 2017 Whitewater National Championships in August will bring the best whitewater paddlers in the country to Ottawa to compete alongside up-and-coming athletes for the title of National Champion
