Savour Ottawa this Fall!
Ottawa has more agricultural land within its borders than any city in the country, and the fall harvest fills farmers’ markets and restaurant kitchens across the Capital with fresh local fare. Open-air farmers’ markets dot Ottawa’s urban landscape, from historic locations at the ByWard Market and Parkdale Market, to other more recent additions – over a dozen others featuring local producers and products. Ottawa farmers, restaurateurs and chefs connect to bring locally produced products to the city’s thriving culinary scene through an innovative and award-winning culinary tourism program called Savour Ottawa. Participating restaurants and producers display the official Savour Ottawa seal to signify locally produced products and ingredients. The Savour Ottawa Field House at Parkdale Market is open Thursday through Sunday, offering nothing but local foods grown and produced by featured Savour Ottawa farmers, who each take turns ‘minding the store’.
