Ottawa 2017

Countdown to 2013!!

Sparks Street Mall New Year's EveThere are two brand new fantastic street parties lined up to ring in the New Year in Ottawa! And admission is free to both of them!

On the Sparks Street Mall, a pedestrian mall one block south of Parliament Hill, the celebration starts at 8:00 pm on December 31 with food and drink on the street, amazing prizes, live music, DJs, and a Times-Square-style ball-drop at midnight. Follow new announcements on the event’s Facebook page.

Meanwhile, over at Ottawa City Hall, the Scottish Society of Ottawa invites you to welcome 2013 Scottish-style with a New Year’s Eve Hogmanay party. This family friendly shindig will celebrate the Scottish New Year at 7:00 pm (so you can bring the kiddies) or stick around till midnight, taste some Scotch or McAuslan beer. There will be Celtic bands, ice-skating on the refrigerated outdoor Rink of Dreams, Highland dancing, and of course bagpipes!
