Travel writing award winner Enter the 2013 contest!
Every year, dozens of talented travel writers visit Ottawa and share their experiences through a variety of media, including newspaper articles, magazine features, blogs and other online media. Ottawa Tourism offers a $500 CAD prize for the best example each year, judged by Peter Johansen, a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication at Ottawa’s Carleton University.
Congratulations to Amanda Williams of Ohio, who was named the winner of the 2012 Ottawa Tourism Travel Writing Award. Amanda’s winning entry was a blog post called “My Night in Prison” about her stay at the Ottawa Jail Hostel, and it appeared on January 16, 2012 in her blog, A Dangerous Business.
Commemorative plaques will be shared with runners-up Miriam Porter of Toronto and Josephine Matyas of Kingston.
Ottawa Tourism thanks all visiting travel media for their passion, their creativity and their efforts to spread the word about Ottawa and Canada's Capital Region.
