Savour the last bits of warmth with a walking tour

Whether travelling to Ontario with family or on a business trip, there's always time to explore the city and its lovely parks on a walking tour. Many of these short excursions are free, and all travellers have to do is sign up and show up to get a lesson while visiting the city's historical sites.
The Nepean Nomads walking group has special outings every couple of weeks, including evening strolls during the full moon. Some treks weave through places like Westboro and Richmond, and include stops at popular lunch restaurants or cafes for that much-needed pick-me-up after walking upwards of 10 kilometres.
For $25 a year, frequent visitors can join the Rideau Trail Association, which has numerous walks to choose from every day. Many of them are easy and catered to families with young and old members, while some like the Pilon Road to Gatineau Park trail are for skilled hikers. Although this route is short, it passes through some rough terrain meaning walkers should bring weatherproof boots and plenty of water.
