Travellers with a penchant for gastronomy should make plans to be in Ottawa this November, as the annual Wine and Food Festival will be in town for five delicious days of events and demonstrations. This fall celebration will surely delight locals and tourists alike, as it has for the past 25 years.
The eclectic selection of exhibits makes for a truly unique and exciting occurrence. Even the pickiest of eaters or the most expert wine aficionados will find their niche alongside those whoappreciate great food and wine, states the event's website.
A highlight of the celebration is the two-hour stroll through Tasting Alley, where participants can enjoy trying more than 75 wines from around the globe. Only a select few are welcome to participate, due to the popularity of this specific event, so travellers may wish to reserve a spot as early as possible. It will take place on both Saturday and Sunday at the Ottawa Convention Centre, where many of the exhibitions are scheduled to transpire.
If travellers are more interested in focusing on food, they can make plans to check out the special Foodies in the Field showcase. This event takes guests off-site to visit some of the local farms and experience where the region's natural and fresh ingredients come from.
Those who wish to attend the festivities can purchase tickets day-to-day or save on costs by booking the entire event. Festivities start on November 9th and continue through the 13th. During the rest of the week, there will also be awards given to various wineries and breweries for their excellence in providing superior beverages that pair perfectly with the featured foods during the festival.
