Don't miss Simple Plan at Scotiabank Place this FebruaryIf travellers have always wanted to attend a massive concert from a world-famous band, they may have their opportunity to do so while on holiday in Ottawa this winter. The band Simple Plan will be rocking Scotiabank Place on February 24th to the delight of a massive audience and fan base that reaches all corners of the globe. Those who love to try new things while exploring new cities, or simply love Simple Plan's music, can make plans to head to Canada's capital city for the show.

As Canadian natives, Simple Plan has been a favourite among residents for years, producing hit after hit of pop and punk songs that have reached top spots on many music charts worldwide. The quintet formed in 1999 and has recorded three studio albums and two live albums. On their debut record, several songs such as "I'd Do Anything" and "Addicted" reached top-10 status in countries like Japan, Mexico and Germany.

The band not only tops the charts, but also has received several accolades for their musical skills, including various nominations for JUNO Awards and Teen Choice Awards. Their most recent album release in 2011, called "Get Your Heart On!," is receiving positive response from fans and music lovers for its sound that goes back to the pop routes the band is well known for.

Simple Plan also advocates for good causes while making great music, so travellers who attend the show can be assured that this act is making a positive impact on the world. The five men created the Simple Plan Foundation in 2005 and to date have donated their time and funds to needy organisations. Recently, band members visited hospitals throughout Montreal to greet young fans who are under care for various ailments. The foundation has also donated money and volunteer time to Japan's disaster relief groups and teenage drug addiction nonprofits in Canada.

Ottawa's show is part of the 2012 Canadian Simple Plan tour that will stop at nine cities across the country. Other metropolises that will welcome Simple Plan to the stage include Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. After conquering Canada, the band will move on to Europe and perform shows throughout Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

Tickets are on sale through the Capital tickets website and more information can be found on the Scotiabank website.
