Summer is the perfect season for seeing live music during a night out on the town. Travellers taking tours of Ottawa may want to venture outside the city to check out the exciting local music scene found in many of the area's unique and welcoming hotspots.
For instance, on June 1 the Black Sheep Inn in the town of Wakefield will host a show featuring Peter Katz and Faraway Neighbours for one night only. This concert is ideal for folk-rock lovers who will be enjoying their holiday near Canada's capital city.
Peter Katz is a talented singer-songwriter from Canada who combines soulful acoustic guitar with relatable and calming lyrics. He recently released a new album titled "First of the Last to Know," produced by Rob Szabo and featuring vocals from The Good Lovelies band.
The Faraway Neighbours is another skillful act that focuses on smooth guitar riffs and strong percussion in their songs. Members include Chris Cucullo on guitar, Andrew Sowka playing bass and Vince Aquilina on drums.
"Faraway Neighbours are one of Ontario's best-kept secrets," Amanda Putz of CBC Radio One said.
Travellers can find out more information about ticket sales on the Black Sheep Inn website.
