Ottawa welcomes another restaurant on the Rideau Canal

The folks at 8 Locks' Flat knew what they were doing when they opened their restaurant along the Rideau Canal this summer.
Situated just north of the Corktown Footbridge on the east side of the waterway, this pop-up eatery has created a buzz among food critics. Those who are staying in Ottawa hotels before mid-October should definitely try this place out before it disappears.
While travellers can expect to get their usual Canadian comfort food and brews, including drinks from Ottawa's own Beau's Brewery, what sets 8 Locks' Flat apart from the typical restaurant are the more daring menu items like cold gazpacho soup and Korean-inspired kalbi short ribs served with homemade kimchi. If that's not enough, diners can even try the cheese or Mediterranean plate to really feel like they've been transported to another continent.
