Ottawa gearing up for Fashion Week 2012

If February's Ottawa Fashion Week was any indicator, next year's spring and summer lines will undoubtedly entrance any visitor planning to travel to Ontario for a design fix. At the semi-annual event, national and international talents display their best work on the runway, starting the new seasons off with the trendiest colours, cuts and patterns.
From October 11-14, the streets of Ottawa will again come alive with both couture and more subdued fashions, giving visitors the opportunity to get a head start on current trends and be on the same page as the world's most savvy designers. Many of the events will take place right in the heart of Little Italy at the Sala San Marco banquet center.
"We are going to close off the three blocks around the hall and turn the streets into a festival," creative director Bruno Racine told The Ottawa Citizen. "We'd love to call it fashion boulevard. Imagine a mini Kodak Theatre on Preston Street. Restaurant owners will keep their kitchens open longer and we'll dress up the street."
