Before the fall rolls around and the weather gets a little cooler, guests staying at Ottawa hotels may want to catch a few more performances of the many buskers who take to the streets throughout the summer.
In the ByWard Market neighbourhood, you’ll often see buskers performing at the corner of William Street and York Street, or on the William Street Mall between Rideau Street and George Street. During the International Busker Festival, which took place earlier this month on Sparks Street pedestrian mall, hundreds of street performers showed off their best acts to visitors, proving that the streets are alive and well in Ottawa.
Performers typically include people like Sean Bridges, who calls himself Bike Boy, and probably has the strongest mouth in the city. Clenching his teeth tightly on a bicycle wheel, he can balance a full-sized two-wheeler up in the air for minutes on end, wowing crowds with his bizarre strength.
