As Canadian Thanksgiving nears, some people who travel to Ontario may be wondering what to do in Ottawa during the weekend. The Canada Agriculture Museum is putting on a fun and interactive show titled Energy Park: Nature At Work, which will allow visitors to explore how exactly food energy is harvested around the world.
From October 6-8, travellers can spend the day walking through displays like Apple Cider Making and Tasting, the Bioenergy Garden Tour and Windmills: Wind at Work. Autumn in Ottawa is the time of year when farmers are gathering up the last bits of crops that will ideally last throughout the winter, such as hearty produce like potatoes and beets, while some are harvesting energy from the wind and sun.
Families will have the chance to see all of this in action at Energy Park, where they can get a feel for what it might be like to be a farmer for a day. Kids can even learn how to grind their own grain before kneading some dough and baking a rustic bread loaf of their own.
