Travellers making their way to Ottawa may be in the market to try out the Canadian capital's best local cuisine. With the opening of two six {ate} this past weekend, the late night food scene is reaching after-hours diners finding themselves on Preston Street, Ottawa’s Little Italy. Rather than offering the typical deep-fried munchies, the folks at two six {ate} are putting a spin on comfort foods like chicken wings and stuffed peppers
Formerly the Lindenhof restaurant, the establishment is surprisingly comfortable despite its brand new sheen, and provides an impressive menu fit for any and all visitors, whether they're in the mood for deep fried delights like peanut butter sandwiches or want to get fancy with some foie gras after an evening of bar hopping around town.
Chef Steve Harris and Emily Ienzi are the masterminds behind the restaurant, and concoct trend-defying contemporary takes on comfort food using whatever ingredients are in season. Visitors who travel to Ontario during the fall can expect to order up a cheese board from local dairy farmers as well as burgers made from O'Brien Farms beef.
