Get ready for more haunting events

Get ready for more haunting eventsTravellers who dare to get seriously spooked should head to Fort Fright in Kingston this month for the chance to scream, squeal and gasp as ghouls, witches, zombies and all sorts of creepy monsters emerge from around every corner. Locals already rave about this event as one of the most frightening in all of Eastern Ontario, and those who travel through Canada this Halloween season won't want to miss it for the world.

A spooky history
There are few things that are scarier than a real ghost story, and Fort Henry is brimming with history of past battles and lore about spirits who may still roam the grounds. As the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Ontario, the fort is both beautiful and a significant landmark. Perched atop the highest hill where Lake Ontario, The Rideau Canal and St. Lawrence River merge, Fort Henry once served as a beacon and stronghold for the Canadian military. Today, it hosts outdoor rock concerts and community events, including the scary Fort Fright.

Spend the night with ghosts
If visitors are willing to put aside all of their fears for this Halloween event, they can sign up for the haunted overnight stay at Fort Henry, and try to fall asleep amidst the ghosts who supposedly wander the premises. Guests will have the opportunity to stay in one of the many limestone casemates, which sleep anywhere from two to 14 people, and make themselves comfortable on soft beds.

One-of-a-kind Halloween activities
Is spending an evening with real ghosts not enough? Maybe it's too much? There are still other to enjoy, including the exhilarating Zombie Hunter Shooting Game or the Coffin Ride, during which visitors will experience what it's like to get buried alive. Of course, there's always the haunted hayride, which is definitely not for the faint of heart, that goes through the Fort Henry grounds throughout the day and into the night.

Thankfully, visitors can reward themselves for a job well done surviving the haunts and visit the Pirate's Den Restaurant for a warm meal.
