Ottawa travellers with a penchant for being environmentally friendly may want to head to the 6th annual Eco Gala on Wednesday, October 24 at the Courtyard Restaurant. Along with mouthwatering vegetarian dishes, there will also be live music, a silent auction and ample opportunities to mingle with like-minded people.
The mouthwatering event is sponsored by Ecology Ottawa, which currently has more than 11,000 supporters and hundreds of volunteers working to make the Canadian capital a more sustainable city.
Murray Wilson, chef of the Courtyard Restaurant, is set to create a four-course vegetarian meal with dishes like Moroccan chickpea tagine and roasted vegetable kale salad. Many of the ingredients used for these plates are actually sourced from farms located right around the corner from Ottawa accommodations, so locavores can delight in their delicious and environmentally conscious meal.
During the dinner, violinist Vlada Chametka and guitarist Mikhail Rykov of Duet Cantabile will serenade diners with classical tunes that will certainly enhance every aspect of the meal.
