The second annual Merrickville Jazz fest is ready to get underway this weekend, and those who travel to Ontario should get snazzy and put on their best black tie event attire for the numerous performances across the town. Some of the venues for this year's festival include Harry McLean's Pub, Main Street Restaurant, Gads Hill Place and Elements Bistro. Visitors need only pay $60 for an entire weekend pass to see some of their favourite musicians in intimate settings.
Harry McLean's Lineup
Travellers who have never seen the Brian Downey Trio are in for a real treat when they get a ticket for their show at Harry McLean's Pub. Not only will this concert be in a small and comfortable setting, but visitors will also have the chance to hear every little note this awesome trio belts on their jazzy instruments. Guests will be amazed at the sweet sounds the bassist, lead guitarist and smooth drummer produce with every flick of their wrist and strum of their fingers.
This pub also boasts a friendly and casual atmosphere, so visitors won't have to dress to the nines for the show, and can sit back and relax as they sip Ottawan brews and munch on classic pub fare, including mouthwatering poutine and juicy burgers seared to perfection.
Getting fancy at the Baldachin Dining Room
The first show at the Baldachin Dining Room will feature Steve Bilodeau, whose smooth and entrancing melodies will turn any evening into a sophisticated and truly snazzy night. If travellers are more interested in swinging jazz tunes, they should make their way back to the dining room on Saturday evening for the Standing Room Only Dance Band. During this exhilarating show, attendees can strut their stuff on the dance floor and grab the hands of their special someone - or a complete stranger - and groove all night long.
The weekend's festivities will close out on Sunday evening at the Baldachin Dining Room with Wave, whose catchy tunes will undoubtedly leave visitors dancing down the streets.
