Beer events filling up the Ottawa events calendar

Beer events filling up the Ottawa events calendarHave a penchant for Ottawa's craft beer scene? After checking in to an Ottawa hotel, it's time for travellers to fill their itinerary with events that are sure to keep their craving for a refreshing pint of beer at bay. Ticketed dinners, brewery openings and tastings are what's coming up this winter, and seats are filling up fast.

Beer lovers who travel to Ontario this year may want to leave room in their schedule for these frothy, bubbly and all-around awesome events:

Christmas Tails at Russell Curling Club
Situated just Southeast of Ottawa, the city of Russell is an ideal place to drive, especially during the winter when the trees are topped with a light layer of fluffy snow, and during Christmas Tails on November 18, visitors can get cozy by the fire as they drink wines made just around the corner in Prince Edward County, as well as beer from local areas. All of the proceeds from this fundraising event go toward replenishing and perpetuating the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.

Wine vs. Beer at Farbs Kitchen & Wine Bar
When wine and beer enter the ring, it's time for the ultimate throwdown. While each have their own inherent qualities, there are still those who prefer one over the other as a matter of personal taste. But for visitors who want to dabble in another libation, the Wine vs. Beer event at Farbs Kitchen & Wine Bar on November 21 could potentially convert devoted beer or wine lovers to the other side. Each libation will be paired with a delicious dish to bring out even more flavours.

Grand opening of Beyond the Pale Brewing Company
Three cheers for yet another brewing company opening in Ottawa! Beyond the Pale Brewing Company is opening its doors on November 29 and offering four brews: The Darkness (oatmeal stout), Pink Fuzz (grapefruit wheat), Rye Guy (IPA)  and Imperial Super Guy (double IPA). Visitors can fill up growlers once the brewery's opened its doors and take them back to their charming Ottawa accommodations to sample the delicious brews one at a time to savour every flavour note.

Tap Takeover at The Wellington Gastropub
Beau's All Natural Brewing Co. offers visitors and residents some seriously incredible libations, and for one day only, travellers will have the chance to try 13 beers on tap. The Tap Takeover at the Wellington Gastropub will not only feature Beau's impeccable drinks, but will also include an art exhibit and delicious bar food.
