Travellers who will be stopping in Ottawa this week may want to take advantage of an educational and fun event taking place at the Canadian Museum of Nature. The event, which is a part of the museum's new de Natura programme, will kick off a series of functionsthat will discuss pressing issues.
On January 17, the public can come and enjoy insightful conversations about the issue of global food security. In addition, theycan meetMaurice Hladik, the author of "Demystifying Food from Farm to Fork," who will discuss modern agriculture.
Hladik's presentation will include recent trends in agriculture, news with genetic modification and benefits of possible future technologies. Those in attendancewill be able to relax and listen with a drink in hand, and thenhave an opportunityto discuss the topics Hladik brings up surrounding these issues.
Those who are planning to travel to Canada in the near future, but will not make it to this event can still check out similar group discussions. The museum is hosting another event on February 7 about issues in the Arctic.
