The 21st Annual Skifest for the Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa is taking place the last weekend of January. The day-long event will benefit the "Home-Away-From-Home" cause, which helps families with children who are fighting cancer and other serious issues, and being treated at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
The all-day event includes registration, lunch, meetings and of course, the corporate ski challenge. The night concludes with dinner and awards as well as an auction to raise additional funds. Although it is a corporate event, those who happened to be travelling to Ottawa at the time can donate to the cause as well.
Not only do avid skiers and snowboarders get the chance to hit the slopes for the day, but they will also be donating to a good cause. In addition to hosting charity events, the Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa is focused on ensuring that the families and children who are staying there are getting what they need and that they feel safe. Proceeds from this year's event will go directly to the Family Rooms at the CHEO. These rooms are designed for families to get away from it all, even if just for a little while.
