Those who are planning a trip to Ottawa may want to explore some of the great beer options on tap! There are a number of places to get some locally brewed drafts, and making a day of travelling to a few of them may be a fun idea for those visiting Canada's capital. Even though there are tons of places to go, here are a few to start a visitor's list. 

Clocktower Brew House
This great brew house is located at 575 Bank Street and offers a wide range of beers for those who love the taste of a good brew. One of their most famous beers is the Clocktower Red, which is considered their most complex beer. It is a blend of five different types of malt and two types of hops, giving off a variety of sweet flavors such as caramel, chocolate and toffee. They also have the Bytown Brown on tap, which will surprise its drinkers will how light it is. The beer is complete with sweet and roasted malts, and leaves the individual feeling refreshed. These are only two of the 10 they are featuring now, and are certainly worth a taste. 

Kichesippi Beer Co.
Many visitors ask those who work at this brewery how it got its name, and this family-owned brewery explains that Kichesippi is an Algonquin word meaning "The Great River," and it  was is the name of the Ottawa River. The brewery is known for batching beer in small amounts, so that each pour has the same freshness as the last. Right now they are featuring the Kichesippi Natural Blonde, which is an all malt Pale Ale, and the 1855, which is a delicious dark malt.

Broadhead Brewing Company
This is a relatively new brewery that was built from the ground up by four young Ottawa residents. They have a number of beers to choose from including the Underdog Pale, which is a hard-hitting, hoppy beer with a strong finish, and the Wild Card Ale, which is refreshing with a hint of citrus. The Long Shot White is for those who love fruity beers, as this brew combines spice with orange overtones.
