Hit the links at some of these golf courses in the Ottawa region

Hit the links at some of these golf courses in the Ottawa regionWhen it comes to planning a vacation, everyone incorporates something different into their trip. For some, playing golf is a must. Those who are travelling to the Ottawa area and thinking about the perfect place to hit the links have plenty of options to choose from. Here are a few of the many that golfers can check out while staying in Canada's capital.

Anderson Links
Travellers who are looking for a bit of a challenge may want to check out Anderson Links. This course, which has been around since 2007, is just minutes from downtown Ottawa. It features equal numbers of par-three, par-four and par-five holes, as well as a mix of tree-lined and open fairways, giving golfers the variety they want.

Champlain Golf Club
This course is where many golfers in Canada's capital started to play the sport. The Champlain Golf Club, which used to go by the name of Glenlea, gives guests a full set of amenities as well as the golf course. There is a stocked pro shop as well as a restaurant and a practice area for those who want to warm up a bit before hitting the front nine.

Gatineau Golf and Country Club
This course has been around for nearly a century, starting out as the Hull Country Club back in 1926. However, it was not long before it got renamed in 1929 to what it is today - Gatineau Golf and Country Club. This course is not only beautiful, but it also has a rich history to go with it. Players can enjoy 18 holes and then relax at the restaurant or the clubhouse - either option provides a great place to relax after a day on the links.

White Sands Golf Course
There are countless things to do while visiting Ottawa, but those who want to take up golf while away can check out the White Sands Golf Course. This course is ideal for travellers who want to do lots of sightseeing, but still would like to squeeze in a quick game, as it features a nine-hole course. All of the holes are par-threes, making it easy to get through the game without it taking up an entire day. It is also a good place for individuals to practice their short game.
