When it comes to beautiful places to see in Ottawa, the list is very long and it can be hard to keep up with all of the many breathtaking views that Canada's capital has to offer, including locations like Commissioners Park. This park is located on the corner of Preston Street meets Queen Elizabeth Drive in Ottawa, measures 8.95 hectares, and is a must-see attraction during the spring.
The Canadian Tulip Festival takes place May 3-20, 2013 and Commissioners Park is one of the best places to go during this time of year, as it boasts 300,000 tulips in various colours for an eye-catching and beautiful sight. Those who want to bring their family and pets can do so, just as long as the dog has a leash. Picnickers are welcome and even encouraged, as families can settle in and enjoy a day in the sun, surrounded by the beautiful blooms.
Even after the festival is over, the park is still a great place to go, as the tulips are replaced with a wide range of other flowers in the summer.
