While travellers visiting the capital city will have no shortage of museums to sate their desire for art, the grand scale of many Ottawan museums may be off putting to some. For those travellers looking for a more humble, yet no less impressive, showing of modern art, a trip to the Cube Gallery's Great Big Smalls exhibit may be the perfect attraction.
Now in its seventh year, the Great Big Smalls show is a month-long event that presents diminutive works of art from local and national artists. The show, which kicks off on December 1 and runs throughout the remainder of the year, will feature works from more than 60 artists – many of which will be available for purchase and reasonably priced, making this event a great destination for art-loving adventurers during the holiday season.
The Cube Gallery is a beacon of culture in Western Ottawa, and is located near several charming local eateries like the Table Vegetarian, the Absinthe Café Resto Bar and the Wellington Gastropub – all of which combine to a fantastic night on the town for visitors to Ottawa.
