The city of Ottawa is slated to get much more delicious this February during the annual Taste of Winterlude event. Travellers who are fans of exquisite and unique culinary delights will not want to miss the festivities that are taking place in Canada's capital city this January 26th through February 19th, which feature cuisine from many local restaurants prepared by the city's top chefs.

This is the seventh year that Ottawa has hosted the Taste of Winterlude, which will coincide with the other fantastic events happening throughout the region as part of the Winterlude festival, including games, concerts and gorgeous displays of seasonal art. For the restaurant portion, guests can purchase tickets to the various events, with each night showcasing the cuisine from a specific establishment. Travellers who attend these evenings can choose from a variety of restaurants and are sure to find something that will please every palate.

There are dozens of restaurants taking part that guests may select from for a culinary adventure. On February 16th, travellers can make plans to attend Jacobsons' beer and cheese evening. Beers from local brewery Kichesippi and three foreign brews will be featured, as will cheeses hailing from across the globe, including nations like Belgium, England and Spain.

Those who would like to have a full meal can try out the Spices of the World demonstration on February 5th, hosted by Gy restaurant. This establishment will present a special four-course meal that focuses on the tastes and flavours of spicy international food. The presentation will be in French, but since cuisine is universal, guests should be encouraged to try this event out no matter what language they speak.

If travellers are heading to Ottawa for a fun girl's getaway, they may want to check out the night hosted by Holtz Spa, called Martinis and Manicures. On February 7th, participants can sample a variety of elegant cocktails and appetizers before being treated to a luxurious manicure by the spa's professional staff.

Tickets are already on sale for those who wish to attend, and some events are beginning to sell out. Travellers who want to participate should make plans now, as this popular event tends to run out of tickets quickly.
