Two big acts coming to Ottawa this January

Famous comedian and TV personality Demetri Martin will be performing at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre this January 14th, delighting audience members with his quirky sense of humour and clever skits.

Martin has had a large presence on Comedy Central with both his appearances on the Daily Show and his own hilarious programme, Important Things With Demetri Martin, which combines everyday observations with a dry and humorous explanation. He has been featured at various concerts, festivals, movies and events throughout the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe festival and an appearance in the film The Rocker.

As a New York native, many of his skits and comedy sketches are raw and unfiltered, yet have a subtle wit, which may be due to his background as a Yale University graduate. Called Treasure Trove, this show features many favourite characters from some of the best Disney animated films of all time. Travellers may see the Pride Lands reinvented on ice as Simba from the Lion King goes on an adventure with his two best friends, Timon and Pumba.
