Those interested in all things spiritual and checking out museums while on holiday should visit the new exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. From December 11th through September 2012, there will be a unique display depicting stories and representations from many of the world's major religions that travellers can see while in town.
The exhibit, titled God(s): A User’s Guide, offers insight into the worshipping practices and routines of Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism. The museum displays a collection of artefacts and photographs, and explains the varying ideas and customs between them, highlighting some of the more interesting differences and similarities.
Not only is this exhibit available to those who purchase regular admission tickets, but on most days throughout February, there will be similarly themed live demonstrations that all museum patrons can attend. Called It's Your Move: Religious Symbols and Traditions in Food, this presentation will encourage guests to play games and learn about the role cuisine plays in various spiritual traditions around the world.
These happenings at the museum may be well worth a visit to Canada's capital city this winter for a unique holiday experience.
