If travellers want to know a little more about what it takes to make a perfect brew, attending a beer crafting class in Ottawa this winter may be the ultimate activity to try while on holiday. Canada's capital city is home to a premier brewer called the Kichesippi Beer Company, and they have paired with the Savvy Company to open up the brewery to get a look behind the scenes at what it takes to design the perfect pint.
On February 15th, travellers in Ottawa will get the chance to participate in a unique event that welcomes guests to the brewery for an evening spent learning the tricks of the trade. Hosted by co-owner and beer professional Paul Meek, this event will cover a wide range of topics and include some samplings of the beverage.
The evening will begin with a brief history of beer and how different styles of production have evolved into the present-day techniques. Then, guests will dive into some presentations on how to pour a pint, how to correctly taste and sample beer and even which glasses to use with various flavours. The event will conclude with a talk on beers from around the world and how to best pair certain brews with different kinds of cuisine. A selection of cheeses and artisan snacks will also be provided during the lectures and demonstrations.
Travellers who enjoy the fine art of beer and wish to mingle with other fans of the brew will not want to miss the fun event during the winter season in Ottawa.
Tickets are on sale through the Savvy Company website. Organizers say that having a hearty meal before the class is advisable, because most of the evening will be centred on the tastings.
Those who are 19 years of age and older visiting Ottawa this winter can attend this exciting event, which will be a great addition to a spectacular holiday in this fun and vibrant city.
