Ottawa's Chamberfest will be in full bloom this spring

Ottawa's Chamberfest will be in full bloom this springIf the thought of attending a week's worth of concerts is music to your ears, then heading to Ottawa this spring could be a perfect opportunity for a harmonious holiday this year. The city's Chamberfest will feature some top international talent performing at a series of venues throughout Canada's capital city. Lovers of classical music and live shows will delight in this type of event, which can make for great holiday memories and a fun thing to do while in the area.

The event is hosted by the Ottawa Chamber Music Society (OCMS), an organisation that hopes to educate local and nationwide communities on this genre of music by presenting annual concerts and festivals to the public so that these types of shows are easily accessible and exciting to participate in. The biggest event is the Chamberfest, and this year, the acts promise to be among the best that the festival has ever presented.

Although some of the shows in February have already passed, there are still plenty planned for March that guests that attend. On the 10th, the Gryphon Trio with Patricia O'Callaghan will play at the Black Sheep Inn. This act blends together various types of music, so travellers may hear Mexican folksongs, tango tunes or pop music. In the past, the Gryphon Trio has opened for big acts such as the Gorillaz.

The next day, tourists in Ottawa can catch a massive live show that will feature musicians and acts playing a variety of songs. This show will take place at the National Cemetery of Canada, which will present an unusual but thrilling space to enjoy music. Some of the compositions that will be played include Lonesome Roads by Dan Visconti and Martin Bresnick's My Twentieth Century. The Gryphon Trio will return for this show as well, accompanied by performers like Roman Borys on cello and Brigit Knecht on flute.

Travellers who are looking forward to being a part of the festivities can check out the OCMS' website for additional information about purchasing tickets. The site also offers links to the event's Facebook fan page and Twitter so that tourists who plan on taking tours of Ottawa in the future can start dialogues about all the fun things to do in the area.
