When travellers want to experience a new locale, they may wish to explore the endemic culture by checking out some of the fun theatre productions that are happening in town. Community groups often host shows that are kid-friendly and a great way to support local talent.
For instance, while taking tours of Ottawa, travellers can make plans to see the Sound of Music performed by the Greely Players, a local troupe of skilled actors that put on fantastic shows year round.
This classic play that was later adapted into a popular film tells the story of the Von Trapp family during World War II. The governess falls in love with a widowed father of seven, and their adventures are told through songs and dance. Some of the most recognisable tunes include "My Favorite Things" and "Do-Re-Mi."
This production is suitable for all ages and can be a wonderful addition to any holiday trip to Canada's capital city. Shows run from March 28th to April 1st and are held at the Greely Community Centre.
