This spring, a special artist will exhibit her work at the Ottawa Art Gallery that may change how guests view trash and treasure. Through the beginning of June, Pat Durr's unique mosaics, installations and thought-provoking paintings will be on display to illustrate her style and expression of life's joys and complexities.
Since moving to Ottawa in the 1960s, Durr has taken the local art scene by storm as an active member of organisations like the Canadian Artists Representation and allowing her art to be exhibited in venues across the city. For the past four decades, Durr's work has evolved and continues to fascinate her audience by making them think about the use of dark colours, sharp lines and symbolism.
This newest display, called Persistence of Chaos, can be seen by travellers who pay regular admission at the Ottawa Art Gallery. Some of her pieces will include a crushed soda can wall pattern held by strings and an installation of muted rainbows and dark clouds created using cardboard. While taking tours of Ottawa, a view of Pat Durr's interesting artwork can be a great addition to any holiday trip in town.
