The weather is gorgeous in Canada's capital as the snow melts and the beautiful flowers begin to bloom. This time of year offers a perfect opportunity for those taking tours of Ottawa to enjoy the outdoors and check out one of the city's most iconic bridges.
Crossing over the Ottawa River is the Royal Alexandra Interprovincial Bridge, a celebrated structure that thousands of people cross every day by foot, bike and car to journey from Ottawa, Ontario, to Gatineau, Quebec, and back. The sturdy steel structure has provided an easy path across the river since 1900. Tourists can snap pictures from the shore of the bridge or walk across it for views of the rushing water below.
Visitors to the city can reach the bridge after they take tours of Parliament Hill, as it is nearby. When guests get to the other side in Gatineau, they can enjoy several attractions within walking distance as well, including the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
