It can be a thrill to take a look at the capital's rich Francophone culture, especially when it's presented in a large-scale performance. Travellers taking tours of Ottawa should check out the theatre venue across the Ottawa River in Gatineau, called the Maison de la Culture. This facility often presents shows and concerts in French, which can still be enjoyed by all no matter what language they speak.
For instance, in celebration of the venue's 20th anniversary, a large cast of talented actors and singers will be putting on "Destination Paris" on weekend dates throughout August. Nearly 20 composers and actors will take the stage along with 20 dancers and a dozen musicians to create a spectacular musical about the vibrant country of France. Each skilled performer brings their own talents and styles to the play which makes for an exciting and colourful show. Set designers have also put their magic touch into the spectacle, building some life-like environments that truly highlight the actors' ability to perform.
While not all words may be understood by English-speakers, the music is universal and can make a memorable activity to try while in Canada's capital city.
