Indulge your sweet tooth in Ottawa
Ottawa Travel Guide | Wednesday, 14 September 2011 17:15
Travellers in the Ottawa area who are craving some sugar have several superb options to satisfy their love of confections. After a great meal at one of the city’s fabulous restaurants, visitors can head to a candy shop with their families or to simply awaken their own inner child.
The first stop on the candy express is Sugar Mountain, which welcomes visitors, young and old, to grab as many of their delectable treats as they can. According to the company’s website, there are two locations in Ottawa that provide hundreds of different kinds of wrapped and bulk confections, some of which are international. Alongside the classic American selections, Sugar Mountain offers treats from Mexico and the U.K. as well. Travellers can find these shops on Elgin Street and William Street.
For an elegant sweet treat experience, guests who travel to Canada may choose The Candy Store on Richmond Road, states the boutique’s website. This beautifully restored establishment is a throwback to the old candy shop setup, complete with white counter tops and glass mason jars. Guests can choose from a variety of sweets, including malt balls, gummies and homemade caramels.
