The theatrical opportunities in Ottawa are plentiful and wonderfully diverse, which will surely please travellers of all styles and tastes. For example, this October the National Arts Theatre will be hosting Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies, an event that hopes to celebrate the very best of musicals and film.
According to the venue's website, this unique performance will illustrate some of the best pieces crafted by the famous Broadway duo. In connection with the National Arts Theatre Orchestra, well-loved songs will be played alongside visual images of classic films and movie stars presented in full-colour. Some of the musicals showcased include The King and I, South Pacific, and The Sound of Music.
Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II composed more than 100 musicals and 12,000 individual songs that are loved by music enthusiasts throughout the world, states the Imagen Music Group, which protects and archives most of these pieces.
Travellers who wish to have an unforgettable evening experiencing some of musical theatre's best masterpieces should book tickets to this spectacular event.
