Get gourmet burgers at The Works, order a personalized thin crust pizza at Fiazza Fresh Fired, get fresh rolls at MHK sushi, visit Gezellig for refined global food, check out Bar Lupulus for sophisticated fare and up your vegetarian game at Pure Kitchen.

For sweet treats, bite into decadence at the Cupcake Lounge, get fresh macarons and crêpes at Quelque Chose Patisserie, indulge in ice cream, cakes, milkshakes and more at La Diperie and enjoy French delights at Chez Françios – Plaisirs de Provence or Mamie Clafoutis.

Join locals as they sip fair trade coffee and tea at Bridgehead and delicious craft beer at Clocktower Brew Pub – both local chains.

Arts + Culture

The Westboro neighbourhood is full of free public art including murals, installations, sculptures and Maplelawn Garden. Richmond Road is home to many local art shops and galleries, including Wall Space Gallery.

With a welcoming atmosphere and a commitment to celebrating creativity, Westboro’s arts and culture scene continues to attract both locals and tourists alike.

Outdoor activities

Westboro Village has two main parks in the area. Hampton Park is a dog-friendly park and Westboro Kiwanis Park features a children’s playground. Both parks boast a wading pool perfect for cooling off with your little ones. Enjoy the soft sand, water activities and spectacular sunsets at Westboro Beach on the Ottawa River.

At the western end of Westboro is the Mapleland estate, a National Historic Site which dates to 1831. The stone house has a rare walled garden with a lush and manicured space maintained by volunteers. A beautiful photo spot in the summer and fall!

When the weather is mild, the recreational pathways along the Ottawa River are filled with cyclists, roller bladers and runners. In the winter, the section between Westboro Village and the Canadian War Museum near downtown Ottawa transforms into the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail. Cross-country skiers, snowshoers, fat bikers and walkers all utilize this groomed snow route.

Shopping

A variety of shops line Westboro’s trendy and walkable main street, Richmond Road. Those who love being active can search for the latest gear at MEC, Bushtukah, Fjallraven and Lululemon.

Fashion and accessories can be found throughout the neighbourhood — get an Ottawa-shaped necklace at Magpie Jewellery, shop women’s fashion at Tallow, Fashion United and Manhattan West, and find consigned fashion at Rikochet Resale.

Enhance your health and home life by exploring natural wellness products at Saje and Natural Food Pantry, score some cooking paraphernalia at Kitchenalia and find beautiful furniture at Polanco.

Wellness takes centre stage in Westboro Village, making it a great location for self-care. Treat yourself to a nail session at a number of local salons, attend a drop-in fitness class like yoga and Pilates or even join an adult dance class at Union Studios. With so many shops and studios to choose from, you’ll easily find what you’re looking for in the Westboro neighbourhood.
