Carp Fair

If you’re passing through Ottawa’s west end in autumn, don’t miss the annual Carp Fair – dubbed “The Best Little Fair in Canada.” Held the last weekend of September for close to a century and a half, the Fair is a country classic, with agriculture and homecraft at its heart, but plenty of midway thrills and great entertainment all around.  Take in a livestock show, enjoy great fair food, and hop on the tilt-a-whirl – or maybe hop on the tilt-a-whirl first, then sample the tasting fare! Past entertainment headliners have included Tanya Tucker, The Stampeders (yes, the original Stampeders!) and Praire Oyser. From excellent antiques displays to strongman competitions to games and prizes and more – the Carp Fair is fun for everyone!
