Hogs Back Falls

Hogs Back Falls at Mooney’s Bay is where the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal – a UNESCO World Heritage site – split to wind their separate ways through downtown Ottawa. The Falls are part of the original rapids on the river, and offer spectacular views and a popular backdrop for photography, while the operating Canal locks lift and lower boats to and from the Bay. Hogs Back Falls Park is a beautiful natural park with cycling and walking paths along the river. In late summer, it’s home to the Ottawa Folkfest. And in winter, it’s a popular destination for cross-country skiers.
