Papanack Park Zoo

Snow leopards, white lions, and lemurs – oh my!  Papanack Park Zoo began as a successful, family-owned rare animal breeding operation before opening to the public in 1995 on a trial basis. Since that time it has grown into the Ottawa area’s only zoo – and one of its favourite family destinations.  The zoo is internationally acclaimed for its snow leopard captive breeding program and is home to North America’s largest collection of lemurs.  Tigers, wolves, deer, antelope, zebras, kangaroos, monkeys, bears, buffalo, lynx, jaguars – the zoo is a modern day arc of rare and endangered species. Open late May through Thanksgiving, the zoo offers a unique Junior Zookeeper Camp for kids.  Bring your own picnic lunch or stop by the snack bar onsite.
