What do you get when you put 10 photographers, more than 20 writers and a few videographers, all millennials, into one room? Wing’d!
This group of young entrepreneurs can’t wait to show you what Ottawa has to offer. Ready to de-bunk the “Ottawa is boring” cliché, they explore Ottawa from a street view perspective, delving into the spectacular as well as the everyday.
In 2013, Wing’d began as a blog platform to provide opportunities for creative people to communicate relevant stories in a world where superficial information often makes the rounds. Wing’d was created to refocus people’s attention towards things that matter, like extraordinary people living in seemingly ordinary times.
In their own words, “Our primary goal is to promote rich, informative and intellectual content online, as well as provide a hub for people all around the world to share and discuss these types of content.”
Winning a Canadian Online Publishing Award was a bonus, but the real work began with their ambitious book publishing venture. The first copies of An Insider’s Guide to Ottawa were recently released at the group’s pre-launch event.
In the meantime, we leave One Young World Summit delegates and leaders with a sneak preview of what to expect. Sometimes pictures speak louder than words. #SeeYouInOttawa
