Ottawa Tourism’s Communications team is dedicated to supporting travel media and other journalists in their work. In fact, we assist more than 250 journalists per year in the city and countless more via email. From organizing detailed media visits, to securing coveted media passes for special events and festivals, coordinating interviews, assisting with fact-checking and images as well as providing story ideas, we work to put you in touch with the best of what Ottawa and Canada’s Capital Region has to offer.
Coming to Ottawa? It may be possible to assist with accommodations and transportation. Reach out to us and let us know what you’re planning. We like to get to know our visiting journalists, so be sure to tell us where you’re from, what you like to write about, who your audience is (and how it matches with Ottawa Tourism’s objectives) and / or your confirmed assignments.
Various factors influence the level of assistance we can provide, including the themes of your report, the outlet in which the coverage will appear, the target market of the report and the amount of time we have to coordinate your visit, among others. And if you’re hoping to visit Ottawa during Winterlude in February, the Canadian Tulip Festival in May or Canada Day on July 1—which are some of our busiest times—please reach out to us early to ensure that we’ll have plenty of time to coordinate all the details for your wonderful stay in the region!
