In the City of Ottawa you may park on-street at parking metres and where permitted by signs. Where there are no signs regulating parking, you may park for a maximum of three hours between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Read signs carfully before you park on-street and remember, parking spaces on high volume streets turn into NO-STOPPING zones during during weekday rush hours. From November 15 to April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. The prohibition is not signed and is enfornced only when 7 or more centimetres of snow is forecast. To be safe, park off-street overnight if you can.
