From professional development events such as the annual Stars of the City Conference and social media training sessions, to more networking-focused events such as the annual Ottawa Tourism Awards, the Holiday Reception and the Stars of the City Recognition Evening, Ottawa Tourism provides many chances to polish your own skills, meet new people and make lasting connections in Ottawa’s tourism industry.

Through industry leadership and destination marketing, Ottawa Tourism, a not-for-profit membership-based organization, works together with more than 330 tourism-related member businesses to profile Ottawa and Canada’s Capital Region as a diverse place to visit. We showcase the best of what Canada’s capital has to offer!

Members also have access to Ottawa Tourism’s exclusive Annual General Meeting as well as research reports that provide forecasts and monthly statistics on hotel occupancy, motor coach tours, conventions and visitation.

Networking Events

Annual General Meeting and Tourism Summit
Date: May 30, 2016

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for members to participate in the governance of Ottawa Tourism. Key elements of the AGM include the presentation of the annual report and financial statements, and election of members to the Board of Directors. Directly following the AGM, Ottawa Tourism members are invited to attend a networking reception.

OGHA-Ottawa Tourism Golf Tournament
Date: September 12, 2016

The annual golf tournament is a networking opportunity for OGHA and Ottawa Tourism members. The proceeds from the event go to the Algonquin College Foundation.

Holiday Reception
Date: Annually in late November

This networking opportunity allows members to kick off the holiday season with their tourism industry colleagues. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Snow Suit Fund of Ottawa.

Training Events

Stars of the City Annual Conference
Date: May 17, 2016

The 2016 Stars of the City Conference is an interactive workshop that celebrates tourism-oriented customer service. Through two dynamic presentations, Earning Glowing Reviews and All About Ottawa – delegates will learn about the importance of customer service in the tourism context and how acting as an ambassador for all of the sites, attractions and activities that our beautiful city has to offer can encourage repeat visitation to Canada’s capital region – now and into the future.

Registration is $10 + taxes and fees. Register five delegates for the same session, and the sixth one is FREE!!
