If you’re looking for a little equine adventure, Ottawa and its surrounding region has that too. Why not take in the beauty of the upper Ottawa River region on horseback? Here are a few options for you to consider:
Horse Country Campground:
Located in Foresters Falls, Ont., rafting company Wilderness Tours is also home to the Horse Country Campground. This unique campground is equestrian-friendly, offering campsites with a fire pit and a corral for your horse. Here, you will find more than 30 kilometres of scenic trails that stretch across a variety of terrains such as open fields, forest trails and scenic views of the Ottawa River. Campers also have access to a horse and rider agility challenge course, horse soccer games, community trail rides and campfire sing-alongs.
But you don’t have to be a horse owner to take in this equestrian experience and these beautiful trails. Trail riding programs for beginner and advanced riders are available, and everything you need is included; even the trusty horse!
