OWL Rafting is offering a new shuttle service from Ottawa to Beachburg and back each Wednesday and Thursday between July 6 and August 31, 2016. Reservations/advanced notice is required. Visit the website for pickup locations and times www.owl-mkc.ca

Ottawa has three waterways which allow for unique experiences for both Group and FIT travel!

Bayou-Outaouais offers an educational and exciting private AIRBOAT excursion for up to 8 passengers! Join Rideau Canal Cruises, the most unique way to discover Ottawa! On board a brand new 100% electric boat, you will sail on the Rideau Canal and have a novel view of downtown Ottawa! The National Arts Centre, Lansdowne Park, Dow’s lake and many more scenic views await you!

The electric Aqua-Taxi is a water taxi/shuttle service between the Ottawa dock and the Canadian Museum of History offered by Au Feel de l’Eau. The water taxi runs every day from mid-May to mid-October.

Join the Bytown Museum and discover the Ottawa Locks, set next to majestic Parliament Hill in the heart of the nation’s capital. Let your guide take you back to the early 19th century, the time of the Rideau Canal’s construction—North America’s oldest operating canal system. Tour Ottawa’s oldest stone building, now the Bytown Museum and explore the exhibits related to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. This new, 90-minute tour is available in English and French to groups of 10 – 60 people.

  • Capital Cruises will be sailing the mighty Ottawa River from May until October with departures from Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau (Hull) and the base of the Rideau Canal Locks in Ottawa.
  • World Famous Paul’s Boat Line: Our Ottawa River tour offers the finest views along the Ottawa River. This 1 1/2-hour tour is the most thorough tour available on the water.
  • Gananoque Boat Line: The oldest and largest company operating passenger tours of the 1,000 Islands offers 22 daily departures during the summer months from Gananoque and Ivy Lea.
  • 1000 Islands Cruises Rockport: Discover exhilarating panoramic views and the rugged nature of the Thousand Islands. This wonderfully lush landscape is dotted with luxurious cottages and vast estates.
  • Ontario waterway cruises: Ontario Waterway Cruises Inc. operates the Kawartha Voyageur cruise ship which provides 5 day voyages on the Rideau Canal.

Brew Donkey offers tasting tours of local Ottawa area breweries, brewpubs and craft beer bars. These tours were previously offered on weekends only but you can now book a tour from Thursday to Sunday! These tours have a duration of 5 hours with a complimentary snack at the end at either a brewpub or craft beer bar. Some of the locations featured are: Broadhead Brewing Company, Kichesippi Beer Co., Clocktower Brewpub, Beyond The Pale Brewing Company, Ashton Brewing Company, and Cassel Brewing. Canada turns 150 years old in 2017, and Ottawa will be the place to celebrate. VIA Rail

VIA Rail

Convenient, comfortable and affordable, Canada’s passenger train service – VIA Rail – is a great travel choice that offers numerous daily departures to Ottawa from all major cities in southern Ontario and southern Quebec. Ottawa’s Central Station is just minutes east of downtown, and a satellite VIA Rail station is located to the west of the city at Fallowfield-Barrhaven.

One Young World

One Young World

From September 28th to October 1st, Ottawa will be on the international stage, welcoming 1,300 delegates aged 18 to 30 from over 196 countries for the One Young World summit. The annual summit brings together the world’s most valuable young talent—backed by the One Young World Counsellors—to debate, formulate and share innovative solutions to the pressing issues the world faces. No youth-dominated event outside the Olympic Games brings together more countries than One Young World.

Over 200 national and international media outlets attend and bring worldwide attention to delegates as they highlight and tackle urgent global issues. The summit is expected to have a $2 million economic impact on the city. Find out how you can be involved by sending an 18 – 30 year old who has demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to effecting positive change on a range of issues, including the role of business in society, transparency in business and government, the impact of climate change, global health and hunger relief.
